Off the Shores!!

Writing has never been my forte but once in a while few thoughts pop-up. Here is a small fiction of two boats born on the coast of beautiful town of Dunwich.

I could not give a suitable ending to it, may be you guys can help me with it. Please suggest what Anubis should do now, which seas should he sail in. Help Anubis live his dream.

Off the Shores!!

In Dunwich , a coastal town lived a boat builder named Anat. He dreamed of

building boats, boats which could sail far into the deep sea, carry people across the horizon. He started working on two such boats. Few months passed and Raibhya, from the north coast saw Anat building these beautiful boats and asked if he can have one of them once it is complete. He dreamed to ferry his family in the sea with Meera, he called her Meera. The other boat still had no taker. Then came Fa, she took the other boat, he was called Anubis. Anat put in all his creativity to make Meera one of the most beautiful boats in entire Dunwich. Anubis was built to go far, far into the oceans. Fa came to Anat daily to look at her baby, baby Anubis which was taking shape, growing bigger with each day. She loved to watch him as a mother loves to watch her child grow.

Few months passed and Meera and Anubis were ready to sail, to be a part of Raibhya's and Fa's family, live their dreams. Although, they were excited but till
that day Meera and Anubis had always lived together, they dreamed together, they wanted to spend their life together, but Raibhya and Fa had something else in mind. They wanted them to sail different routes. It was a strange feeling for Meera and Anubis as they always wanted to be a part of Raibhya's and Fa's family but also what they wanted was to sail together. They promised each other that they’ll come together someday. Meera and Anubis were nervous. In two days they will be apart, may never meet each other again. They now have to drop their dreams, to fulfill the dreams of the family they'll be part of. It was a tough night.

Next morning at coasts of Dunwich, always a calm and beautiful city full of people, people on their carts, small boats, horses. Anat was busy giving Meera and
Anubis the final touch. To his surprise the big bell at the town hall was hit, it has never been hit since the summers a few years back when Temons farm caught fire and the fire was spreading fast to the entire town. It was the toughest summer of the decade. This time it was a warning of a storm. It looked like a Meera and Anubis had to pass the final exams before they could graduate to the open sea. Anat was worried for his two babies. He tied them hard on the coast. It was a sleepless night for Dunwich, people were in their house praying for safety of family and the belongings. It passed by and the morning came with bright Sun shine.

Anat rushed to see the damage. He was shattered by the view. To his surprise Anubis was not at the coast. All the ropes were broken. He was a bit relieved to

see Meera, she was still tied to the coast with some damage. Anat, disappointed, dis-heated started working on Meera to bring back the lost beauty. Raibhya wished Meera could gain her charm again. She took Meera in a month. Fa still came daily to Anat to ask if there is any news of Anubis. To her disappointment there was no sign of Anubis, he went deep into the sea with the waves.

Anubis was all alone, for the first time he has left the shore, left Anat, away from
Fa, separated from Meera. Weeks passed but Anubis could not find his way back home. Waves kept hitting him; he was getting weak as days passed. It was a strange feeling; a boat which was supposed to carry people was sailing alone in lonely sea. He had to find something to occupy him, to give reason to live. To his luck he was found by someone who moved Coal. Anubis was now carrying coal to different parts of the world. But whenever he saw boats filled with family/people sailing in high sea he was saddened, dismayed by the thought that he had a dream, a dream to be with Meera, to be with Fa, in family, but everything was over now. He's just a cargo ship living a lonely life, far from the civilization which has always inspired him.

One day on his way he saw Meera, she was ferrying people. Meera was now a part of Raibhya's family and visited different places. Anubis was rejuvenated. All his hopes were back. It was like a new life for him. Anubis and Meera started meeting often on the way, they spent time together. Anubis wanted to be back with Fa and Meera but did not know how to move away for the current coal lifting job. He now knew where Meera was but still he had to find Fa. He started taking people along with coal now hoping to meet Fa someday and to get back his dream. Time was changing for Anubis, he finally meet Fa one day. She had grown older now. Fa was happy to see her Anubis, her child. Anubis was equally happy, but in these months Anubis has also changed a lot, few patches of wood kept him floating, coal has made marks all over him.
